Comments, Not Chat

I am sorry to have to keep reminding you guys, but the comments section here is for on-topic comments relating to the posts themselves. It’s not a chat room.  I am going to really crack down on off-topic comments that should be conducted on the Forum or by private e-mail between the parties, and if someone isn’t willing to even give someone else a web-based e-mail address, that in itself should be a red flag.

Sorry about my question on the music post. I’m new to this site.

Monarchist it probably wasn’t directed at just YOU. We’re all guilty of it.

The forums are designed to contain this sort of chatter, and they are pretty good.

The problem is HAC/Northwest Migration is spread out thinly over at least half a dozen blogs, several Yahoo groups, and a couple different forums; all of which have the same basic function, which is posting short text messages. The effort at communicating should be consolidated to a single web site.

I got a weird e-mail from some idiot talking a bunch of shit about you, Harold. I tried e-mailing the idiot back but my e-mail was returned. Starting to see what you mean about the Goat Dance.

Where, on any of the sections of this or the other forums, is a “safe” place to exchange email addresses? They are never shown in posted comments and there are no links to a pm page shown when hovering over a members name.

    Hi, Harold:

Still having trouble from those lunatics at That Nineties Show? Tell me about it. What’s this I hear about you cyber-hanging with Bill White? He was up to his eyeballs in all that crap back in that crap with the Board of Directors back in ’03, you know.

Jules – I post my e-mail address in a form the spambots don’t seen to recognise.

My user name is barney_r and my ISP is btinternet.com

Humans can understand that, but I don’t get any spam.

Alternatively, just use [at] in place of @ – like this

    barney_r [at] bt internet.com

I’ve added some spaces there too, just to be sure.

(the example used is my actual address if anyone wants to get in touch)

If I’ve misunderstood, and what you want is a zog-proof method of exchanging addresses, there isn’t one.
