Reading The Northwest Novels

Mr. Covington,

I have bought The Brigade, A Distant Thunder, The Hill of the Ravens, and A Mighty Fortress on Amazon and was wondering in what order they should be read to get the correct timeline for the story of the Northwest Republic?

           Thank you for your help.

Dear Comrade Batts:

There are two ways you can read the Northwest independence novels. The first is the order in which they were written, which is:

           The Hill of the Ravens

          A Distant Thunder

          A Mighty Fortress

          The Brigade

The second way you can read them is in what might be called “mythos order,” which is almost the exact opposite:

           The Brigade

          A Distant Thunder

          A Mighty Fortress

          The Hill of the Ravens

For a new reader I recommend the second way, although it does mean you have to tackle the longest and thickest novel first.

No matter what order you read them, you will not want them to end…..
I am just starting ‘The Brigade’ after reading the other three….interspersed with a ‘time out’ to read”Molon Labe”.

    I think I am addicted!

Please HAC- keep them coming, they preserve what is left of my sanity, and give me HOPE.
